Reflection House celebrates its First Anniversary!

Over the past year, we have witnessed remarkable transformations and profound personal growth, as each resident has taken courageous steps towards rebuilding their lives. This celebration is a testament to the power of hope, healing, and the nurturing environment we have cultivated together.

Congratulations to Miranda Bageant — our newest Certified Peer Recovery Specialist!

We couldn’t be more proud of her for reaching this amazing milestone. Through hard work, heart, and lived experience, Miranda is now officially certified to walk alongside others on their recovery journeys with empathy, strength, and support.

Join us at the 3rd Annual Walk for Recovery on September 13, 2025 at Broadford Lake Park! Together we will walk to stomp out the stigma of addiction and celebrate recovery, one step at a time.

This vibrant occupancy not only signifies the trust placed in us by our residents but also underscores the importance of community and connection that we cultivate here. We are committed to ensuring that every individual feels valued and cared for, even as we navigate the delightful chaos of a full house.

We invite you to support the Tom Dabney Scholarship Fund, established to honor our founder, Tom Dabney, and his vision of helping women in Garret County. Tom was instrumental in founding Reflection House, a women’s substance use recovery residence that offers a safe and supportive environment for women to rebuild their lives.

Jaimie Bell has stepped back as President of the Board for Reflection House and has transitioned to an
employee, on a part-time basis, as the Program Coordinator. Suzette Merrick has been appointed Interim President of Reflection House.

The Reflection House board of directors has carefully considered the availability of alcoholic beverages at our fundraising events. After thoughtful discussion and input from both the board and the wider community, we have decided that no alcohol will be served at any Reflection House-sponsored events.

On September 25th, 2024 Reflection House celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting, marking a significant milestone for the community. Located on a pristine property in the heart of Garrett County, Reflection House uses a social enterprise model, for residents to receive training in life and relationship skills, job skills, and real-world coping skills to support their sustained recovery.

Reflection House hosted its second annual Recovery Walk at Deep Creek Lake State Park on September 14, 2024, with about 150 people coming together to support those impacted by substance use disorders. The walk served as a symbol of unity, with participants marching in solidarity for individuals on their recovery journey.
